A New Era of Cooperation Sheikh Hamdan’s Historic Visits to India
In the presence of greatness, two nations came together. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the illustrious Crown Prince of Dubai, with his unwavering dedication to excellence, progress, driving transformative growth and innovation in the UAE and beyond, visited India from April 8-9, 2025, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit was a milestone moment in the history of UAE-India relations.
His Highness received a traditional Indian welcome in New Delhi, complete with a red carpet, musical tribute, and warm welcome from India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi.
Forging Deeper Ties
SheikhHamdan met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hosted a working lunch in his honor. During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan conveyed the greetings of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
His Highness also held meetings with External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and other ministers. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, higher education, maritime services, logistics, and private sector engagement.
A Symbolic Gesture
Sheikh Hamdan visited Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi and paid tribute to Sheikh Zayed’s legacy by visiting the tree the UAE founder had planted. This poignant gesture underscored the deepening cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
Celebrating Friendship and Triumph
Sheikh Hamdan enjoyed a traditional Indian meal at Pali Bhavan in Mumbai. He also rang the opening bell at the Bombay Stock Exchange, signaling the strengthening of economic ties between the UAE and India.
In a special meeting with Team India, Sheikh Hamdan congratulated them on their recent triumph in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This moment of celebration marked a high point in the visit, highlighting the shared passions and victories that bring nations closer together.
