Gigi Hadid Just Made Flip-Flops High Fashion

Published

Gigi Hadid shows us how to wear flip-flops like a runway queen — and we’re absolutely here for it.

Stop and think for a moment, could you ever wear flip-flops to a major fashion event.

If you saw someone in flip-flops at a fashion event, you might assume they were just popping. But when Gigi Hadid does it? It’s called a style statement and the world takes notes.

This week, the supermodel turned heads in New York City as she arrived at the launch of her collaboration with Havaianas, the iconic Brazilian flip-flop brand. But it wasn’t just the rain that made people stop, it was her entire look.

Gigi showed up in a stunning, sleeveless white mini dress from Marc Jacobs, decorated with colorful jewel embellishments. Simple, short, and glam here’s the real twist.

She paired it with bright yellow flip-flops. Yes, flip-flops! The kind you would usually wear to the beach or by the pool. And somehow, she made them look designer.

The Outfit  Broke the Internet (In a Good Way)

The internet didn’t waste time. Fashion blogs, style pages, and celebrity gossip sites couldn’t stop talking about the look. Why? Because it is not something you see everyday. It was unexpected but it was fun. And it was a reminder that style doesn’t have to be uncomfortable to be cool.

Her flip-flops, which is part of the Gigi Hadid x Havaianas collection, featured a square-toe design, a soft, buttery yellow that matched her accessories to the last detail.

Even her anklet complemented the casual footwear. She carried a colorful beaded bag, threw on some chunky jewelry, and held a black-and-white umbrella like the fashion queen she is.

It was giving “laid-back luxury” and we are here for it.

Are Flip-Flops Fashion Now?

Apparently, yes.

Gigi isn’t the first celebrity to wear flip-flops with a dress  but she just might be the one to convince the rest of us to try it too.

For years, fashion has been moving toward comfort. From sneakers on red carpets to baggy jeans making a comeback, the lines between “casual” and “chic” are blurring really fast.

In a place like the UAE – where fashion is bold and the heat is real, this feels especially relevant.

Stylish comfort is the real deal. You can now rock your favorite pair of easy slides with an abaya, a summer dress, or even wide-leg trousers and still look on point.

So, What’s Next?

If this trend catches on (and it looks like it will), don’t be surprised if flip-flops show up at brunches, summer weddings, and rooftop parties and everywhere in-between. But of course, it’s not just about the flip-flop, it’s about how you wear it.

Want to pull off the Gigi look? Keep it simple. Pair clean, polished flip-flops with a statement dress or a minimal outfit. Add one or two bold accessories, and walk with confidence. That’s the real key.

Conclusion

Gigi Hadid may have just flipped the script

What we once saw as lazy footwear is now luxury, fresh, and cool

Fashion is changing. The rules are shifting. And in this new era, you get to decide what’s stylish for you.

So if you’re still wondering whether flip-flops can be high fashion, the answer is now a loud, confident Yes. Yes, they can.

And if Gigi can wear them in the rain with a designer mini, you can wear them anywhere, too.

Bella Hadid Celebrates Valentine’s Day in a Sparkling Red Georges Chakra

Published

Bella Hadid is getting loved up! The model threw a Valentine’s Day dinner party with her girls, full of red wine and roses to celebrate the year’s sweetest day, with tonnes of Orbella goodies.

For the event, the founder chose a perfectly themed party dress that harkened back to the early 2000s. The red midi, from Georges Chakra’s Spring/Summer 2003 collection, was airy, sparkling, and playfully romantic, just like the heroine of a Y2K romance movie. The V-neck gown, which had ribbon straps and a cape shawl, was designed with a waterfall of sparkling stones that were tightly grouped at the top and flowed down the material into the flirtatious ruffled hem. Ideal for dancing.

The beauty of the dress lies not only in its design but in its color: a deep red at the top lightens as it flows, then darkens again at the hem, creating a rich, flowing contrast that draws the eye.

Hadid’s long, blond hair, secured with a flower, in a half-up, half-down style and styled with beachy waves, mirrored the simple, airy vibe of the skirt. She accessorised with a few diamond bracelets and rings to add shine to the dress. And brown heels with pointed toes to complete her outfit.

Her skincare and perfume line, known for its unique take on fragrance, has launched a new silk scarf in pink and red, trimmed with heart designs. Printed with hand-drawn graphics, the scarf is designed to carry your signature Orebella scent. Hadid wore hers over her dress, tying it at the hip for an added dose of Valentine’s Day spirit.
