Summer is more than just being a time of of the year, it’s incredibly tough on your skin. During summer, the most important thing is to wear sunscreen. AAD recommends using a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, including water-resistant technology and 50 to provide additional protection for extended periods outdoors. With broad-spectrum coverage, the formula shields against both premature aging (UVA) and sunburn. Give generous application for 15 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours.

Tinted Moisturizer With SPFHeavy

Heat causes foundation to melt or break down, leading likely to cause clogged pores. A tinted moisturizer with SPF addresses this problem by providing hydration, light coverage, and protection from the sun in one application. By adding SPF to your moisturizer every day, The Skin Cancer Foundation suggests that you can maintain protection without changing your routine. Why? The presence of vitamin C in tinted moisturizers can help counter free radical damage caused by exposure to the sun.

Waterproof Mascara.

The worst enemies of a mascara are heat, sweat and humidity. By utilizing special polymers and waxes, these water-resistant formulas ensure long life for your eyelashes thickness and don’t leave any residue. According to Healthline’s, waterproof mascara demands a separate oil-based remover, but it is still one of the most effective methods for maintaining eye makeup in warm, active conditions. Optometrists have tested formulas for individuals with sensitive eyes.

 Facial Mist

This is one of the most overlooked summer beauty products. Its moisturizing effect on the face is remarkable… Beyond the quick cooling effect, the right formula also actively benefits skin. According to Verywell Health, facial mists with hyaluronic acid or thermal spring water replenish moisture in the skin after exposure to heat or sunlight. Their makeup sets can also be used as a great highlighter, as they blend into the skin for hydration and durability. Refrigerate one at home and keep a travel size in your bag for convenient air.

 Lip Balm With SPF.

The skin on the lips is thin and delicate, making them susceptible to UV damage, because they contain less melanin than the surrounding skin. The Skin Cancer Foundation suggests using a lip balm with an SPF of 30 or higher and reapplying after meals or drinks to prevent skin cancer. For extra nutrition, choose ingredients such as shea butter or vitamin E and beeswax instead of relying on protection alone. The use of a consistent routine can help to prevent hyperpigmentation and damage the lips over time.

The top five products are centered on protection, hydration, and staying power. When you invest in them today, your skin will be rewarded long after the summer season has come to an end.

The Best Moisturising Toners to Replace Heavy Summer Creams

Published

on

Every summer, there comes a moment when your usual moisturiser stops feeling comfortable on the skin and your winter moisturiser begins to feel heavy, trapping heat on the skin, and makes midday shine more noticeable. The solution isn’t dropping moisture altogether, but switching how you apply it.

Moisturising toners have become a key step in many warm-weather routines. Lightweight enough to absorb before you have finished patting them in, yet substantive enough to hold the skin barrier steady through humidity and heat, they sit between a splash of water and a richer cream. Here are five worth considering.

Laneige Cream Skin Toner

Photo: Instagram

It delivers the satisfaction of a moisturiser inside a toner’s featherlight body, with white leaf tea water helping to calm inflammation while a ceramide and peptide complex works quietly underneath to support barrier repair. Best suited to dry and sensitive skin, but those with oilier skin may want to patch test before committing.

Shiseido Eudermine Activating Essence Lotion

Twenty-four-hour hydration from a formula that feels like water on the skin is the kind of claim that usually invites scepticism. Here, however, dual hyaluronic acids lend it credibility, drawing in and sealing moisture at different skin depths. Vitamin C helps brighten and even out tone with continued use.

SK-II Facial Treatment Toner

Pitera™, SK-II’s signature ferment complex, has been central to the brand’s formulations for decades. Combined with AHAs, it lifts residual grime, refines texture, and brightens in a single step. Less a traditional toner and more a final step in cleansing, designed to refine skin with continued use.

Fenty Beauty Fat Water Toner Essence

It contains tamarind, panthenol, and hyaluronic acid, which absorb quickly and leave skin hydrated and feeling calmer, the travel-friendly packaging is a practical bonus, though the light scent is worth testing if fragrance sensitivity is a concern.

Rhode Skin Glazing Milk

Ceramides and beta-glucan form the backbone of this calming essence, built specifically with reactive and eczema-prone skin in mind, it carries the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance. It leaves skin hydrated through the day without feeling heavy or occlusive.
