Hollywood Director Rob Reiner, Passes Away at 78

Published

on

Rob Reiner has died at the age of 78. He and his wife were found dead on Sunday at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Police said the couple had been stabbed. Authorities later arrested the couple’s 32-year-old son Nick Reiner, who has been booked in connection with their deaths, investigators have not yet released further details, and the case remains under review.

Reiner was not only a familiar name, and his work quietly became part of everyday culture. He directed The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, When Harry Met Sally, and This Is Spinal Tap. Before directing, Reiner was an actor. He became widely known in the 1970s as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family. The role made him famous. In the years that followed, he stepped behind the camera and built an highly influential directing career.

He made very different kinds of movies over the years. He made coming-of-age stories, romantic comedies, sharp satire, and courtroom dramas. Some films worked better than others, especially later in his career, but his early run was widely regarded as his strongest period.

Off the set, Reiner threw himself into politics and social causes, always ready to make his voice heard. He supported civil rights causes, early childhood education, and Democratic campaigns. He never hid his views, and he accepted the criticism that came with that. After his death, tributes came quickly. Stephen King, whose stories Reiner brought to the screen, called him a close friend. Former President Barack Obama spoke about Reiner’s belief in public service.

The way he died has made the loss harder to absorb. It happened at home, inside his family.  The films keep playing. People laugh, quote their favorite lines, and share them with new audiences. That hasn’t changed.

Conor McGregor Marries Longtime Partner Dee Devlin

Published

on

After being together for almost 20 years, Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin are finally married, but in a move that surprised many who know the flamboyant fighter’s public persona . They opted for a quiet, private celebration instead of a grand, showy affair. This past Friday, December 12th, 2025, the longtime couple exchanged vows not in a castle or on a lavish estate, but within the ancient, hallowed walls of the Church of Santo Stefano degli Abissini in Vatican City. The ceremony was private, attended only by their closest family. Among the attendees, the couple’s four children; Conor Jr, Croía, Rían, and the youngest stood out as the most special guests. Making the celebration a true family affair.

For those who have followed their journey, the choice of location feels deeply symbolic. Their story began in the humble, everyday world of Ireland, two people from neighboring towns whose paths crossed on a Dublin night out in 2008. Back then, McGregor was a hopeful plumber with big dreams. Devlin was the steady, supportive presence who believed in him long before the world knew his name. She was there for the early fights in small halls, the explosive rise to two-division UFC champion, the global fame, and the inevitable trials that came with it. Through everything, Dee was always there for him, quietly supportive, keeping him grounded without any grand gesture.

McGregor had once talked about a wedding fit for a king, a massive celebration. When it came to this special occasion they opted for a different kind of grandeur.

It speaks to a desire to root their union in something eternal, away from the flashbulbs and headlines. It was a day not for the “Notorious” persona, but for Conor and Dee, the partners and parents.

Outside the ring, McGregor has expanded into business and entertainment, including his whiskey brand, fashion projects, and a role in Road House. But this marriage marks perhaps his most significant personal chapter. It’s the formal blessing on a love story that has been his true foundation. In the end, surrounded by their children in the heart of Vatican City, they didn’t just close one chapter; they quietly, gracefully began the rest of their lives together.
