Muse stem cells are multilineage-differentiating stress-enduring cells, discovered in 2010 by Dr. Mari Dezawa and her team in Japan. Found in bone marrow and other tissues, they continuously circulate in the bloodstream and respond to distress signals, specifically, S1P proteins released by injured tissues.
